The Eastern Division is one of the three operational divisions of the New England Army. Headquarterd at Raleigh Barracks, the the division is responsible for operation and administration of all army brigades in the counties of Clarence, Fitzroyshire, Macleay, Macquarie and Raleigh. The division was formed on the 1st July 2023, and fought with great distinction in the Five Day War.
The division is currently commanded by Major-General Michelle Martin. The 1st Brigade is led by Brigadier Sydney Williams, while the 4th Brigade is commanded by Brigadier Robert Andersen. The 7th (Militia) Brigade is commanded by Brigadier Allison Smyth.
History
Organisation
The Eastern Division is divided into three brigades, two active and one in reserve. The active brigades are based in Port Macquarie and Grafton, with the reserve brigade headquartered in Raleigh. In addition, an inactive reserve brigades, the 11th, is assigned to the division, but it only exists on paper. This additional brigade can be recalled to active duty in the event of a major emergency.
1st Brigade - The largest brigade in the division, the 1st Brigade is based at the North Shore Barracks in Port Macquarie. The 1st is responsible for the defence of New England's south coast
4th Brigade - Based at Braunstone, on the southern outskirts of Grafton, the 4th Brigade defends New England's northern approaches from attack along the coastal strip.
7th (Militia) Brigade - Headquartered in Raleigh, the 7th brigade consists of all militia units in the division.
