Structure of the Royal New England Air Force

The Royal New England Air Force or RNEAF is organised into a number of different units, each with a strategic area of responsibility. All of the air force is part of the Air Command, which is in turn composed of five operational groups. The current structure of the RNEAF dates to 2022, when the Davidson government undertook a major restructure of the defence force and created the five groups as they exist today.

Structurally, each of the five operational groups are divided into three or four wings, each of which contain the same number of squadrons. The Squadrons are the most fundamental unit of the RNEAF, and serve as the smallest unit able to operate independently. Squadrons consist of at least three flights, with aircraft squadrons having a minimum of twelve planes per squadron.
