The eleventh General Election for the House of Assembly was held on Saturday, 6 March 2044. The governing National/Democratic Conservative coalition led by Jim Gordon, went into the election with xx out of 100 seats.

The election resulted in a reduced majority for the Gordon government, with xx seats in the 100 seat House. The opposition Social Democratic Labour Party won xx seats, an improvement of xx seats from their disasterous results four years earlier. Likewise, the New England Alliance improved it's delegation to the House of Assembly, picking up xx seats to give the party xx seats overall.

Background

In 2040, the Social Demcratic Labour Party had won the general election, and formed a coalition government with the Progressive Party.

Under the provisions set out in the Elections Act 2018, an election must be held on the first Saturday in March, which must be between thirty and forty days after the King has dropped the writ and dissolved the House of Assembly.
