The Most Noble and Grand Order of New England is the highest civilian honour in New England, with membership awarded to those who exemplify the lifetime contributions made by many people to their nation. Created on the 3rd October 2012, the Order was established by King Michael to replace the Australian honours system which was no longer appropriate for an independent nation.

The King of New England, James II, is Monarch of the Order and the Duke of Duval is its Chancellor and Principal Companion. Since 2012, 2,405 people have been appointed to the Order of New England. The order is divided into four divisions, each with their own conditions and size of membership. The pinnicle of the order are the twenty-four knight companions, who are considered to be the greated living contributors to New England's society. Appointments to the Order are annoucned on the 19th February and the 8th September every year.

Well known recipients include the Sir Jonathon Braddock, First Minister from 2012 until 2015, and Dame Eliza Macdonald, the leader of the united militia in Port Macquarie during the Civil War. Other recipients include the scientist Sir Lloyd Jennings-Obquist and Dame Margaret Cummings, Chief Matron of St. Vincent's Regional Hospital, Port Macquarie.

Knight Companions

The highest division of the order are the twenty-four knight companions. All knights are entitled to prefix either Sir or Dame to their forenames. When appointed, knights of the order have the right to attach supporters to their armorial bearings. Both men and women are known as knight companions, and the notion of "lady companions" does not exist. This reflects New England's policy of sexual equality without degenerate political correctness. It also reflects the reality of New England's military where men and women serve in largely equal and indentical roles.
