Orchard House

Orchard House
Orchard House
Location: Saumarez Estate,
Armidale
Built: 2036
Style: Neo-Edwardian
Occupants: - HH Princess Kate
- Lord Dawkins

Orchard House is the current and principal residence of HH Princess Kate, her husband, Lord Dawkins and their children. The house is a modest home built on the estate of Saumarez House in Armidale's western suburbs. The house is one of the newest on the estate, and was built in 2036.

The house is named after the many apple orchards that once dotted the area. Much of the land was urbanised in the 2020s, but a significant area was left as open parkland until the house was built.

Design

By any standard, Orchard House is not a large residence. The house is built on a very practical scale, and usually does not see large events or gatherings. When the Princess and her family do entertain, it is usually at either Saumarez House or at Jeogla Station.
