The Office of the First Minister and Cabinet or OFMC is the most senior and powerful ministry of the government of New England. The office has a double function, serving as the secretariat for the cabinet, while also being the ministerial department for the First Minister himself. It is a non-partisan body, that provides advice and support to the First Minister and his advisers, and also helps to coordinate and support to the departments and agencies of the government. The OFMC is based in SH Smith House in central Armidale.
The OFMC is separate from the political Executive Office of the First Minister, which is composed of the senior advisors and advocates to the First Minister and issues most of directives and intitives that go into the day to day business of government.
