All crown corporation are run in a traditional corporate structure, which a chairman and board appointing a CEO to run the corporation on a day-to-day basis.
Crown corporations are reasonably rare in New England, although this has more to do with a lack of private competition rather than the usual hands off approach that most governments give to the private sector.
Regulation
Crown corporations are regulated by Acts of Parliament. As they have the potential to hold a majority share of the market place, they are bound by regulation to act in a manner that is not anti-competitive. For all other functions of corporate governance, crown corporations are treated in the same way as other businesses.
