Preamble
We, the loyal subjects of the King, grateful and humble for our freedom, do ordain and establish the following declaration of rights and frame of government, as the Constitution of the Kingdom of New England.
Bound by a desire for continuing peace, the people hereby declare their intention to ratify the Treaty of Wellington and become an independent kingdom.
1. Each party having agreed to the provisions of the Treaty of Wellington, the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia, and the Legislative Council of the Territory of New England, hereby constitute this document, to be known as the Treaty of Wellington (New England Constitution) Act
2. The provisions of this Act referring to the King shall extend to His Majesty King Michael and his heirs and successors in the sovereignty of New England according to law.
3. It shall be lawful for the King, with the advice of the Parliament of the Commonwealth of Australia and the Legislative Council of the Territory of New England, to declare by proclamation that on the 1st October, 2012, that the people of New England shall form a nation under the name of the Kingdom of New England.
4. "The Kingdom" shall mean the Kingdom of New England as established under this Act.
5. The Territory of New England as part of the Commonwealth of Australia is hereby abolished, and the proclamations of the Legislative Council of the Territory of New England shall remain in force until otherwise amended or repealed by the Parliament.
