The provision of rail freight services is the responsibilty of New England Rail's Freight Logistics Division or FLD. Established in 2013, the FLD has grown to the major logistics handler for medium and large good across New England. With an annual budget of C330 million, the division is major service of the government, and in turn has become a major revenue earner as well.
Since independence, New England's railways have proven to be the only way to safely and effectively move freight from place to place. Competition from other forms of transport has lessened with increasing fuel costs making rail the premier form of land transport in New England. Freight Logistics has implemented systems that guarantee door to door freight delivery, of any product, of any size, at any time of time of the day using trains and small lorries.
Background
New England Rail's Freight Logistics Division was formed in 2013 by the government to provide a national freight operator. Freight Logistics was given the task of focusing on the requirements of New England's businesses that must move product on time, at a competitive cost across the length and breadth of the country.
