Urallashire is a major county of New England, located just 20km south-west of Armidale. Urallashire is forth most populous county in New England, and is home to just over 189,000 people. Along with the urban areas of neighbouring Guyrashire and Greater Armidale, parts of Urallashire form the Greater Armidale conurbation.
Area & Population
Urallashire is divided into five urban areas. These areas are the Districts of Gostwyck, Kingstown and Yarrowyck, the Town of Kentucky and the City of Uralla. In area, the county is ranked eleventh, and is only larger than Fitzroyshire and Greater Armidale.
The major population areas of the county are close to the eastern border with Greater Armidale. Uralla is easily the biggest with over 173,000 residents, the next largest is Kentucky with over 16,000 people. Yarrowyck District is the smallest in population (although it is the largest in area) with just 1,099 people.
Politics
Urallashire has long been a haven for the left leaning parties in New England. Today all but one seat on the county council is held by the Social Democratic Labour Party. The county is also where the first stirrings of New England's independence began, with the Unilateral Declaration of Independence proclaimed at Kingstown on the 19th February, 2006.
