Guyrashire is a major county in central New England, and is located 35 kilometres north of Armidale. Today, Guyrashire is a major suburban county and part of the Greater Armidale urban conurbation that stretches from Kentucky to Llangothlin.
After the reorganisation of Greater Armidale in 2018, Guyrashire inherited the Towns of Hillgrove and Thalgarrah, increasing the size of the county by 2,500 people.
Area & Population
By population and area, Guyrashire is a large county. The county seat, for which the county was named, is the sixth largest city in New England. The population of the county is 192,946.
Guyrashire is divided into the Districts of Aberfoyle, Oban, Tenterden and Wollomombi, the Towns of Ben Lomond, Brockley, Hillgrove, Thalgarrah and Wandsworth and the City of Guyra.
Politics
Originally dominated by the National Party, Guyrashire is today a diverse political environment, as urbanisation has reduced the dominance of rural interests in the county.
