Kootingal is an international awarding winning film by Syd Clarke. The film tells the story of a company in the Royal New England Regiment and the part they played in the Battle of Kootingal during the Five Day War in 2032. Since the fim was released in September 2049, it has become the higest grossing film ever made in New England, with takings of over C33 million.
Shot in a very gritty and raw manner, the film swiftly won acclaim from many critics as an accurate portrail of the events leading up to and during the battle. Despite this, the film has not been shown in Australia, as censors believed it showed the country in a poor light. Many have critised the film as glorifying the battle at the expence of history and factual evidence.
